TVTC is proud to be named a Host Site for select courses offered by the OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) at Volunteer State Community College (VSCC.) The goal of OTIEC courses is to reduce workplace fatalities and injuries by teaching the application of OSHA standards in hazard recognition and prevention. OSHA encourages all OTI Education Centers to establish host sites to provide additional training opportunities within their respective OSHA Region.
TVTC is a state-of-the-art facility with modern computer lab, classrooms and hands-on training areas. Providing the OSHA curriculum will further enhance the safety training currently offered and provide a much-needed service to area industries. CEU’s for the courses will be provided by Vol State Community College.
The initial class, OSHA 503 Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers, will be held August 6 - 8. DO NOT LET YOUR OUTREACH TRAINER CARD EXPIRE! Trainers have a 90 calendar day grace period after their expiration date to complete either the trainer update course or the applicable industry trainer course. Check the expiration date on your Outreach Trainer card, if your card is expiring soon make a copy of your current Outreach Trainer card, email it to firstname.lastname@example.org, and request a web authorization code to register for the OSHA #503 Update class.
The 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry course will be held August 20 - 24 and is open to the public.
