Registrations for instructor led classes will no longer be accepted the day of class. \nForklift Operator Training– User Level (Code PIT01)*\n(Powered Industrial Truck) \nClass Duration— 4 hours \nPrice—Members $55.00 Non-members $75.00 \nRecommended For:\nAll employees who operate powered industrial trucks*\nCourse Description\nThis training includes a combination of lecture\, discussion\, visual PowerPoint presentation and practical exercises performed by the trainee. These topics include:\nØ Operating instructions\nØ Warnings and precautions for the truck the operator will be authorized to use\nØ Differences between the truck and automobile\nØ Truck controls and instrumentation\, engine or motor operation\nØ Steering and maneuvering\nØ Visibility (including restriction due to loading)\nØ Fork and attachment adaptation\nØ Operation and use limitations\nØ Capacity and stability of the vehicle\nØ Inspections\, maintenance\, refueling and/or charging the batteries \nCourse Objectives:\nTo train employees in the proper and safe operations of powered industrial trucks\, which includes the proper care\, maintenance\, and safe operation while using a forklift.\n*Operator training must be received before assignment to operate a powered industrial truck.**\n**Refresher training is required for the following: (per 1910.178\, and 1926.602)\nØ The operator has been observed to operate the vehicle in an unsafe manner\nØ The operator has been involved in an accident or near miss incident\nØ The operator has received an evaluation that reveals that the operating is not operating the truck safely.\nØ The operator is assigned to drive a different type of truck \nCLOSED TOE SHOES REQUIRED FOR TRAINING.
